Full Title: Mr. Edward P. Blah goes to Superspy School for Grumpy Groan-Ups

Description: 8" x 8" hollow book, with a 5" x 5" storybook and a 5" x 5" game inside. For the Emily Carr Grad Show, the display signage for the book was written with chalk on a black chalkboard (see images).

Problem: Sometimes kids' creativity is undervalued in a school setting. This book tries to stop kids from thinking that their ideas are unimportant and from ignoring their imaginative thoughts.

Concept: The premise of this interactive storybook revolves around a grumpy mean teacher named Mr Edward P. Blah. Mr Edward P. Blah is banished by his students to the Superspy School for Grumpy Groan-Ups, which is run and taught by children (including the reader). The children teach Mr Edward P. Blah to use the superspy powers he does not yet know that he possesses, for inspiration to create unbelievable wacky characters, drawings and stories.

Independent/Team Project: I hired an illustrator to redraw my storyboards, and I didn't build the hollow book or do the binding myself, so it wasn't completely independent, but I wouldn't call it a team project either.

My Role: Concept, writing, storyboards/layout, colouring of illustrations
